Sixt AG uses SMS to send its booking and reservation confirmations, to circulate company-internal information (for example from the IT department) and also lately to ensure the availability of chauffeurs for its elite Limousine Services. Up to 20,000 SMS messages are sent monthly, generated for the most part automatically by the Sixt online booking system or at their call centre. The Retarus Messaging infrastructure ensures that these messages are delivered punctually and reliably.
The majority of the SMS volume is transmitted via the Retarus SMS for Business Applications service. This universal interface allows the user to integrate preferred applications securely with the Retarus infrastructure via HTTPS. In specific cases Retarus Mail2SMS is required. This is a solution which enables the transmission of SMS messages from any common E-mail programme. This service is used in checking the availability of Sixt Limousine Service chauffeurs, who can receive urgent information immediately via SMS.
The implementation of the Premium SMS service only requires a minimal adjustment to the Sixt infrastructure. It allows Sixt the flexibility of being able to increase the volume of SMS messages transmitted in the future without making any further investment in hardware or software.
