IBM Passport Advantage | Licensing types
- New licenses – usually including maintenance (update service and support)
- Reinstatements - lapsed maintenance licenses are reactivated

IBM Passport Advantage is valid for all available platforms, versions and languages and offers uniform services and prices around the world. Passport Advantage makes it easier to purchase software and provide technical support.
All licenses can only be purchased in conjunction with a maintenance agreement. Prior to expiration, this can be extended by a maintenance renewal. If a maintenance agreement has expired, a maintenance reinstatement updates your license to the current version and reactivates software upgrade protection and manufacturer support. The software maintenance is valid for 12 months starting the day the license is purchased. It includes unlimited support from IBM Software Technical Support Centers for your company’s authorized employees, the appointment of an on-site technical contact and 24/7 troubleshooting support for business-critical applications.
