The presentation is as amusing as it is instructive:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"38C3 - Dialing into the Past: RCE via the Fax Machine \u2013 Because Why Not?\" width=\"872\" height=\"491\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ZcV3esnIDF4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">(Note: If you are short on time \u2013 the actual fax part starts at about 00:21:45)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The attack shown is, of course, extremely sophisticated. Nevertheless, it illustrates the benefits of using cloud faxing instead of insecure fax machines. What&#8217;s more, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.retarus.com\/services\/fax\/\">Cloud Fax<\/a> also works with multifunction printers from many well-known manufacturers, but in this case it uses email (<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.retarus.com\/fax\/managing-settings-for-email-to-fax\">Mail2Fax<\/a> \/ <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.retarus.com\/fax\/fax-to-email\">Fax2Mail<\/a>) and therefore doesn&#8217;t require <a href=\"https:\/\/www.retarus.com\/blog\/en\/no-even-in-2020-fax-is-not-outdated\/\">a telephone line<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All the videos from 38C3 <a
