Retarus Awarded TISAX Certification
Madrid, 31/01/2020 // Munich-based cloud service provider Retarus has successfully completed the TISAX audit, certifying the processing of information for the automotive sector in compliance with high security requirements. TISAX, which stands for «Trusted Information Security Assessment Exchange», was developed by the automobile industry as a common standard for information security. It aims to ensure that all participants in the value chain have similar levels of IT security.
Retarus was able meet the requirements during the very first assessment cycle. The assessors from the inspection organization TÜV SÜD were moreover able to certify that the Munich-based company has a very high level of security for the processing of information in the cloud.
In future, the TISAX assessment will form the basis for the automobile industry to work together with suppliers with a high degree of trust and confidence. TISAX was developed by the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), whose members based the catalog of requirements on the international industry standard ISO/IEC 27001, adapting them to the automotive sector. One substantial benefit for both manufacturers and suppliers is that they will no longer need to audit TISAX-certified suppliers themselves, making it possible for them to shift new processes to modern cloud services more quickly than before.

In addition, the company’s SOC 2 certification documents the security, reliability and availability of processes at Retarus. The company has also achieved certifications relevant to other sectors requiring high levels of security, for instance HIPAA for the healthcare sector or PCI-DSS, and soon Retarus will be adding HITRUST to the list. Above and beyond certifications, Retarus also has its own stringent system of internal controls audited by a renowned corporate auditing, tax and consulting firm on a regular basis. The Munich-based provider of cloud services also makes it possible for customers to examine its data centers and processes at any time using their own auditors.
