Martin Hager

Founder, CEO

A lifelong technologist and entrepreneur, Martin Hager is a people-first leader committed to building enduring technology businesses with integrity, discipline, and excellence. In 1992, driven by a passion for innovation specifically in secure data and document exchange, Martin founded Retarus in Bavaria and has since guided the company’s evolution into an internationally respected provider of mission-critical messaging and cloud communication solutions.

Under Martin’s leadership, Retarus has grown into a global organization with operations across three continents, serving a diverse customer base that includes many of the world’s largest enterprises. The longevity of these relationships is a defining hallmark of the company — with several early Retarus customers still relying on its solutions today — reflecting a foundation of trust built on reliability, security, and consistently high service standards.

Martin’s fascination with technology began early. As a student, he experimented with electronic circuits and software development, earning income from his own technical projects long before founding Retarus. His participation in competitive STEM programs such as Schüler experimentieren and Jugend forscht underscored an early drive to explore, innovate, and solve practical problems — a mindset that continues to shape Retarus’ culture.

Throughout his tenure as CEO, Martin has championed steady, sustainable growth, successfully leading Retarus through multiple technological shifts and market cycles while remaining focused on the company’s core mission: delivering highly secure, reliable solutions that organizations can trust for their most critical business processes. Retarus remains privately owned — a deliberate choice that enables long-term strategic decision-making, continuous investment in security and innovation, and a consistent focus on customer value over short-term gains.

Uwe Geuss

Chief Technology Officer

After joining the company in 2017 as Director of Operations, Uwe now serves as CTO and leads Software Engineering, data center operations, networks and infrastructure, as well as all technical customer touchpoints. Prior to joining Retarus, he held management positions at Vodafone, Telèfonica O2, and Viag Intercom, among others.

Robert Sandner

Chief Financial Officer

Robert Sandner heads the Commercial division, which includes Accounting, Controlling, Procurement, Central Billing, Legal, and Finance. A graduate in Business Administration and certified accountant, he has been with Retarus since 2014. Before joining Retarus, Robert gained experience as a controller in various industries, including at Transtechnik GmbH and GEWA music GmbH.

Kim Donlan

Chief Marketing Officer

Kim Donlan is a messaging, positioning, and digital experience expert who leads brands on the precise path to the #1 position. An early pioneer in interactive technologies, she has worked with brands such as Braun, Reebok, DuPont, and Siemens. In addition to her role as a professor at Boston University’s Questrom School of Business, she drives Retarus’ global marketing activities and brand positioning.

Florian Korhammer

Chief Information Security Officer

Florian Korhammer has been with Retarus since the very beginning, joining the company when it was founded in 1992. After many years as Senior Vice President of Delivery, during which he ensured the smooth operation of Retarus’ data centers and the flawless delivery of Retarus solutions, he is now responsible for IT security, group compliance, and risk management.

Yvonne Kaupp

Global Analyst Relations Lead

Yvonne Kaupp is a seasoned analyst relations leader and market strategist with in-depth expertise in IT software and services. She is recognized for her ability to position complex technology portfolios, drive high-impact analyst engagement that strengthens brand relevance and accelerates commercial impact. Her previous experience includes senior roles at T-Systems, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and Text100 (now Archetype), where she built and scaled global analyst relations and marketing communications programs.

Miriam-Carena Schmitt

Vice President Sales Excellence

Miriam-Carena Schmitt leads the global bid management and sales quality assurance at Retarus, with a focus on customer orientation and efficient processes. Previously, she served as Vice President Sales for Email Security, Partner Sales and Regulated Markets in the DACH region. Before joining Retarus in 2016, she held senior sales positions at several companies, including Nokia Siemens Networks, British Telecom and H&Z Consulting.

Yeray Fraga

Head of Sales Spain

Yeray Fraga serves as the main point of contact for our customers and partners in Spain. Drawing on more than 14 years of experience leading sales teams at companies including Art-Mania Switzerland, Skeepers, Sealpath, and Sales Solutions B2B, where he was co-founder, he contributes his deep sales expertise to Retarus.

Sabrina Hiller

Global Public Relations Lead

Sabrina Hiller leads global public and media relations, ensuring consistent and effective corporate communications. A passionate communicator, she joined Retarus in 2015 as Corporate Communications Manager, having already gained expertise in public relations and event management at Siemens and Schwartz PR.

Benoit Tremolet

Vice President Sales Western Europe & General Manager France

As General Manager of France, Benoît Tremolet leads the activities of our French subsidiary and oversees sales operations across Western Europe, including Spain, the United Kingdom, and Italy. Before joining Retarus in 2013, he held senior sales positions at several companies, including SunGard, Cast, and Quartal Financial Solutions AG.

Malin Nowak

Head of Customer Success Management

Malin Nowak ensures the long-term success and satisfaction of our customers by enabling the optimal use of Retarus solutions. Before joining Retarus in 2022, she spent more than 12 years in various management positions at Amazon, where her responsibilities included leading sales teams and supporting the launch and development of the “Transparency by Amazon” program.

Oliver Pannenbäcker

Senior Vice President Large Deal Desk

Since joining Retarus in 1997, Oliver Pannenbäcker has focused on structuring and successfully closing complex large-scale projects and tenders. Earlier in his career, he held marketing and sales positions at American and German software vendors as well as a French insurance company.

Josephine Schmidl

General Counsel

Josephine Schmidl is responsible for all legal matters at Retarus, including contract law and providing legal support to the management team. A fully qualified lawyer, she joined Retarus in 2023 after holding positions at the Brandenburg Higher Regional Court, the Leo Baeck Foundation, and the good healthcare group, among others.
