New architecture powers Retarus Intelligent Document Processing

Our product team has been hard at work significantly enhancing Retarus Intelligent Document Processing (IDP). A new language model now facilitates instant learning and the smart splitting of line items in orders.

The AI under the hood of Retarus IDP previously relied on a multi-model approach, employing smaller models geared to the specific document type. In contrast, the new architecture makes use of a universal, open-source Mistral LLM with 24 billion parameters, which has been fine-tuned to meet our use cases and is continually being refined and improved.

No initial training is required, with the system “learning” on the job from the documents it’s processing. What’s more, the new AI is also able to detect specified types of line items – for instance, different colors, sizes or delivery dates – and split the information accordingly when it’s being converted into structured data for further processing downstream in an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system.

Enterprises working with IDP benefit from improved recognition, require less manual post-processing by “humans in the loop” (HITL) and are generally able to boost the degree of automation they achieve.

Find out more about Retarus Intelligent Document Processing on our website or directly from your local Retarus contact. On request, we would also be pleased to show you our IDP service in action during an online demo, in which you are given the opportunity to upload your own documents.
