Not only is user management one of the most time-consuming tasks for an administrator, it is also one of the most critical. Retarus is expanding its APIs to include automated provisioning, which will make these recurring tasks significantly easier, more flexible, and more efficient. Customers of our Email Security can manage users, email addresses, aliases, domains, and forwarding rules directly via REST APIs and apply changes in real time.
Real-time provisioning instead of cumbersome directory synchronization
Instead of traditional directory synchronization, changes are transferred directly after an initial synchronization. New users are available immediately, while deleted accounts or changed permissions are applied without delay. User management can therefore be integrated directly into existing ITSM and automation workflows and mapped across the entire lifecycle.
Securely connected, transparently managed
For IT teams, this means less manual administrative effort and more control over their own processes. OAuth2 and Retarus Identity & Access Management enable a secure connection with granular roles and permissions. Transaction logs and immediate error messages provide additional transparency.
Seamlessly integrated into modern cloud environments
The approach is particularly attractive for cloud and Microsoft 365 environments: The API only requires the relevant permissions for the cloud directory, for example via Microsoft Graph. Additional DirSync servers or local synchronization services are not required. Existing customers can also continue running their current DirSync solution in parallel and gradually migrate to the new provisioning.
The Administration API becomes the central interface
With provisioning, the Administration API is evolving into a central interface for managing Retarus Email Security across the entire “email life cycle.”
“Directory-free” administration
At the same time, Retarus is laying the foundation for the next step: The future “directory-free” approach will work entirely without cumbersome directory synchronization.
