German Accelerator Program: The Start-Up Culture is Part of Retarus’ DNA

In 2011, the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology set up the prestigious German Accelerator competition which is a program supporting innovative companies in the high-tech area and strengthening their business activities in the United States. In 2016, Retarus was awarded a seat in this prestigious program.

The German Accelerator supports high-potential German technology companies to successfully emerge in the U.S. market and scale their business globally. The award offers a significant boost to Retarus’ growth model by providing access to outstanding mentors, notable players in the tech market, and valuable resources for expediting scalability. Retarus will be exposed to Silicon Valley’s local infrastructure including an office space next to the world’s thought-leaders.
The company’s presence in Silicon Valley will further help develop the relationships between the recently expanded US headquarters in New Jersey with potential customers and partners on the West Coast.

This month, Retarus’ senior executives will travel from Germany to Silicon Valley to team up with other top entrepreneurs, industry experts, and investors. Johannes Hecker, Retarus’ Group COO and Steve MacDiarmid, President and CEO, of retarus Inc. U.S will oversee the three-month long German Accelerator program. Joining Johannes and Steve is Bernhard Hecker, Director of Product Management. Together they will focus on sharing technology resources, as well as networking with the notable players in this sector. Besides reaching out to new potential partners, they will be evaluating the market viability of products, which are currently operational in Europe and are on the U.S. subsidiary roadmap. The trio will identify trends and developments that will lead to future products and services.

Retarus has continued to provide innovative solutions, and services to advance messaging and communications. Retarus’ CEO, Martin Hager, who is also the founder of the 25-year-old startup, believes that the cloud messaging industry is making a significant contribution to the success of the digital transformation around the globe. According to him, winning this competition is a definite confirmation that despite a quarter century of experience in this business, innovation and startup culture is still part of Retarus’ DNA. The first-hand account of the Accelerator activities will be chronicled and presented in upcoming blog posts. Stay tuned for the adventure!
