Undelivered faxes can happen for a number of reasons: wrong number, busy line, or something more serious. Instead of leaving the issue with the original sender, our new Delivery Assist feature allows support teams to step in and resolve those transmissions in a centralized interface.
This latest expansion and improvement to Retarus Cloud Fax enables users to handle undelivered outbound faxes directly in their browser through our Enterprise Fax Portal, regardless of which of our Cloud Fax products were used.
Centralized recovery of undelivered faxes
Fax workflows can be spread across different tools and processes within your organization. Some documents are sent by end users (e.g., Email-to-Fax), others by applications (e.g., CRM or EHR systems). When a fax transmission remains undelivered, the next step is often unclear. Delivery Assist brings undelivered documents into one portal where support teams can step in and handle them centrally.
For example, if a patient file is sent from an EHR system to a wrong number and this kind of recovery view was not in place, the issue can remain unresolved with the original sender or inside the sending system. With Delivery Assist, a user can see the problem, correct the number, and resend the document with just a few clicks.
Edit documents and resend them directly in the browser
Once an undelivered fax appears in the portal, users can resolve the most common scenarios without relying on the original sender or application:
- Resend to the original number
- Correct the fax number and resend
- Delegate the document to the right team for follow-up
- Review and annotate the document before resending
A valuable add-on to our outbound Cloud Fax products
Delivery Assist provides a consistent recovery layer even when sending is distributed across different systems and workflows. Faxes sent via Email-to-Fax, Cloud Fax for Epic, or Cloud Fax APIs can be surfaced in the Enterprise Fax Portal when they end up undelivered. That gives teams one place to manage exceptions and keep critical document workflows moving.

Small change, big benefits
Delivery Assist saves businesses costs in two ways: directly, by avoiding expenses such as call center time or alternative document transmission methods, and indirectly, by saving teams valuable time. It also helps limit the knock-on effects of documents not arriving when they should: compliance breaches, missed deadlines, reputational damage and more.
Teams can spot undelivered faxes and act immediately. More documents reach their destination without significant delay. Follow-up costs of undelivered documents are reduced. Expensive escalation processes are prevented before they even begin.
