“Channel Futures”, the British specialist ICT media platform, has published a list of 20 providers of email security solutions that are interesting for channel partners (indirect sales or resellers). Retarus is one of them.
In compiling the list, authors from analyst firms such as Omdia, Frost & Sullivan and Forrester were consulted. Following a slowdown due to the COVID pandemic, the market for email security is currently experiencing an upswing: “Growth has now picked back up and will be driven by the needs for increased security for continued remote working environments and growing number of cyber threats,” Sarah Pavlak, Security Industry Principal at Frost & Sullivan, is quoted as saying.
Providers need to continually adapt their solutions to stay innovative and competitive. How they manage to meet the demands and requirements of a constantly evolving threat landscape is a key factor in their success, Pavlak goes on to say. More working from home and “bring your own device” scenarios have also led to new security concerns. “The way people work has changed dramatically over the past few years and providers must adapt offerings to meet these changes.”
In the shortlist, Rik Turner of Omdia characterizes Retarus as an “email security provider worth watching”. Retarus offers a “slightly differentiated email security platform that he finds intriguing”.
“The current threat landscape includes many different types of trending attacks such as phishing, malware, spam, BEC and supply chain compromise,” adds Frost & Sullivan expert Pavlak. Attackers relentlessly come up with new attack techniques to employ. That’s why it’s essential for email security providers to have multi-faceted solutions to deal with the ever-present threat, while also adapting their technologies to safeguard against the latest attack trends.
