Retarus enhances its Secure Email Platform with new outbound features
Comprehensive service to safeguard outbound emails and protect companies from data abuse, loss of data, and reputational damage
Reading, 15/09/2023 // The range of functions provided by the Retarus Secure Email Platform has been expanded to now offer additional control and security when sending out emails. These tools effectively prevent the transmission of outbound spam and phishing mails, while also enabling the limiting of the number of recipients as well as the size of attached files.
Cyber criminals often use compromised email accounts to hijack company names and domains, misusing them to send out spam and phishing messages. To prevent this, the Outbound AntiSpam Detection and Outbound Phishing Filter check outbound messages for spam content and malicious links. Any outbound message classified accordingly is then either rejected or automatically deleted, depending on the user-configured settings. This ensures that no phishing or spam messages are sent out to business partners or customers by way of their email domain, effectively protecting the reputation of the company.
Through their new feature Outbound Recipient Restriction, Retarus additionally gives companies the opportunity to limit the maximum number of recipients for an outbound email. Using Outbound Size Restriction, the maximum size of attachments can also be restricted, for instance to curb file-sharing via email – thus minimizing the risk of data leakage or disclosure of business information.

The new features AntiSpam Detection, Phishing Filter, Recipient Restriction, and Size Restriction round out the outbound functions, complementing the existing Attachment Blocker and Sender Restriction tools.
